The Bible says that we can live life confidently because we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). But what does walking by faith look like in our lives today? This week, Pastor Rick and Kay, along with Pastor Andy and Stacie Wood, discuss what it means to live by faith. ——— Listen to Pastor Rick’s daily Bible teaching and subscribe to his Daily Hope email devotional at http://pastorrick.com Connect with Rick! As I look out on your faces,

I am filled with so much
love, and gratitude for you.

I thank God for you.

I thank God for your role
in our church family,

and I thank God for what
he is gonna do for you,

for you, through you, to
you, by you and in you

in the next years and decades ahead.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

(panelists laughing)

Now today, we’re starting
this series that looks at

the most important style
of walking, faith walking.

Notice there on your
outline, the Bible says

in 2 Corinthians 5: 6-7,

“We’re always confident,
because we walk by faith

and not by sight.”

“We’re always confident
because we walk by faith,

not by sight.”

Now for the next several weeks,

we’re gonna look at what that means.

What are the adventures in faith walking?

And today we’re gonna look at,

how can I learn to walk by faith?

Now, if you wanna understand
how to walk by faith,

you gotta go to Hebrews 11,

which is the classic chapter
on faith in the Bible.

It’s God’s hall of fame for faith heroes.

Now, how important is it that you learn

what we’re gonna talk about
for the next several weeks?

How important that you
learn how to walk by faith?

Look at the next verse in
your outline, Hebrews 11:6.

Let’s read it aloud together.

– “Without faith, it is-

– Impossible.
– To please God.

Because anyone who comes to
him must believe he exists,

and that he rewards those
who earnestly seek him.”

“Without faith, it is
impossible to please God.”

The Bible says, “Whatsoever
is not of faith is sin.”

The Bible says, “The just
shall live by faith.”

The Bible says, “According to your faith,

it will be done unto you.”

The Bible says, “Without faith,

it’s impossible to please God.”

How many times did you please God today?

Well, how many things did you do in faith?

If you didn’t do it in faith,
you did not please God.

Now, today I’ve asked Andy and Stacy Wood,

our next senior pastor,

let’s hear it for Andy Wood, all right?

(congregation cheering)
Yeah.

All right, and what a week this was.

You know, last Sunday we had class 101.

Kay and I taught it here in
the Lake Forest Worship Center.

Well over 2000 people showed up.

Andy and Stacy were in the front row.

They signed the membership covenant.

They’re official members
of Saddleback Church now.

– Whoo!
– All right?

(congregation applauding)

Anyway, I asked Andy and
Stacy to join Kay and me today

in a conversation about faith walking,

about what it means to live by faith,

because I want you to hear their stories

during all the years that they were

at Echo Church, 14 years.
